The Central Coast MIT Enterprise Forum presents:\n\n“Venture Capital and Federal Grants: Finding the Right Combination”\n\nWednesday, September 17, 2003\n\n5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.\n\nWestlake Village Inn\n31943 Agoura Road\nWestlake Village, CA 91361\n818-889-0230\n\nThe evening will open with a keynote address entitled “Winning Federal Grants” by Lynn Foster, Federal Resource Analyst, Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. Lynn will discuss the grant application process and provide advice on how to increase the odds of a winning a grant from the Federal government. Immediately thereafter, Julie Schoenfeld, CEO of OEwaves, a Pasadena-based company developing opto-electronic oscillators, will discuss how her company has succeeded in obtaining both venture funding and Federal grants. Julie will share with the audience the critical issues she considered in deciding which type of funding to pursue at several stages in the development of her company. In addition, a panel of industry experts will comment on Julie’s presentation and offer their insight.
